A bag of sunflower seeds offers the opportunity to make new friends in the small patch trees of a back yard still covered in snow. I am not in the habit of feeding birds and worry about my human impact. Perhaps I need not, as their habitat is also mine, and the way in which they now sing outside my window, in anticipation of their supplement, makes me wonder who trains whom.
