Compass

No. 9421 - 22 Aug 2009 - 12:47:15

Gastown, Vancouver

One more image from last summer at the seashore because this morning the air in my downtown studio does not smell of exhaust fumes or breakfast cooking at the Carnegie. The breeze blowing in my window smells of the ocean* seaweed, sand, and salty goodness. Weather reports indicate that summer is arriving tomorrow.

* Greetings to my friend Yas. Saturday's little red bucket is certainly headed west, across the Pacific Ocean, to Japan. Thank you and keep watching the horizon.

Little Red Bucket

No. 7119 - 25 Jul 2009 - 12:58:30

On Spanish Banks a little red bucket is left overnight and caught in the liminality of the tidal flat. It remains unclaimed throughout the day until the returning tide takes it out to sea for upcoming adventures. Fact.

How Warm?

No. 2775 - 04 Jul 2009 - 12:05:06

Gastown, Vancouver

When it is nine degrees centigrade in January and some women are wearing capri pants and ballet flats, and the men who wear shorts all winter, no matter the temperature, are in their element, then it does not take much to assume that somewhere on Spanish Banks there are a few souls skim boarding today. I have neither photographic nor anecdotal evidence of such activity but here are a few shots from last summer to bring on the mood.
