Little Sky House

No. 8567 - 27 Dec 2009 - 06:46:33

Gastown, Vancouver

High atop the REGENT (ain't much of a) HOTEL is a small, peaked platform favoured by birds. The structure houses an elevator shaft but its riveted metal siding and window vents give it the demeanour of a country cottage. It is situated at a high point on the landscape, resembling a treetop in the urban cliff side, where it functions as a quick rest stop for the rare crow and starling, one of a number of landing strips for a flock of pigeons and a key look-out for a few various glaucous-winged gulls.
