Katso

Gastown, Vancouver

Katso was a world traveller (New York, Pittsburgh, Vancouver) and urban traveller ("hey, Christine, I saw your little black and white cat on a rooftop at the other end of Clinton Street") and cool cat who travelled to the vet wrapped only in a towel and would sit on my lap in the waiting room to the astonishment of all other pet owners. Her likeness sits in Mosaic Creek Park at Charles Street and McLean Drive in Grandview-Woodlands, a park she liked to visit in her retirement and where, under a shady little tree, she now rests. 1979-1997.
